Every year C.P. Hart employees nominate and vote for a charity they wish to sponsor and raise money for throughout the year. Last year Macmillan Cancer Support was the charity of choice, and we managed to raise £3116.90
This year a charity was put forward that is very close to C.P. Hart. This charity is ‘Brandon’s Dreams’ and is to raise money for medical requirements for Brandon, a little boy with Cerebral Palsy. Brandon is a C.P. Hart employees’ Grandson, so you can see why it is a matter important to us, and why there was a strong vote in favour for this to be the charity we support in 2014.
Cerebral palsy is a general term that covers many neurological conditions, all affecting a child’s movement and co-ordination. Although it appears to affect a person’s muscles, it is actually caused by damage to the part of the brain that controls these muscles. Due to the nature of the condition, the symptoms can vary from child to child, and often involves other complications and problems as well.
Brandon is at the age where certain medical help, for example a specially built walker, will greatly help him and his quality of life. We will keep you updated throughout the year regarding the events we hold to raise money for this charity, and if you wish to follow Brandon’s story you can do via his Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/BrandonsDreams.
